Items with an asterisk (*) and anything else you might want or need on the hike to base camp should be carried in your day pack so they can be readily available. We do not open the llama panniers until we get to camp.
You will need a backpacking weight (3-4 lbs.) sleeping bag. If you don’t own one or can’t borrow one, let us know and we’ll rent one for you. We will provide comfortable Thermarest sleeping pads and quality tents.
Try to downsize your toiletry bag and bring only what you know you will need and use. Using travel size toiletries will help eliminate bulk and weight.
We provide trail mixes, dried fruit on the hike to camp plus a hearty lunch. If you bring extra snacks, please plan to carry those in your day pack at all times as chocolate can melt, packages can break and beverages can leak. In the evening, we will store those items in a bear-proof food bucket. Since you will be taking your llama pack directly to your tent, we prefer, and so will you, not to have them smelling of food!
